Rietan Imperial Republic

The Rietan Imperial Republic is a powerful maritime trade state situated on the Leonard Peninsula at the entrance to the White Sea. It is the direct successor to the Narcouster Empire, but unlike that monarchy, its modern form developed around parliament, commerce, the navy, and military-administrative regimes such as the Supreme Admiralty.

Imperial Ascendancy

Rietan's rise came from its proximity to the Great Central Islands, plantation commerce, naval development, and hidden trade with Perlia. Once Ceresia was identified as wealthy, bureaucratically slow, militarily complacent, and strategically central to Perlia, the Supreme Admiralty prepared the invasion that made Rietan master of the continent.

Colonial Rule in Perlia

Rietan rule over Ceresia, Khosagar, Daiyo, and the Spiasathinum world was maintained through proxy colonial administrations and corporate extraction. The Capital Regime gave Rietanian public, private, and state-owned enterprises legal privileges that converted imperial rule into a commercial order.

Decline and Postwar Transformations

The Ceresian War of Liberation ended Rietan hegemony on Perlia. Later crises, the The Great War, territorial losses, and the Rietan Civil War created the political conditions in which the Thumbrian Party and later revisionist politics emerged.
